Frit privacy policy

Last updated 22 October 2026.

Frit is a Mac app for calculating glaze chemistry. It has no network access. It can't send your recipes, your test notes or anything else to the developer or to anyone else. This page says what that means in practice.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code that gathers data. The developer receives no information about you or about how you use the app.

Where your data lives

A glaze book is a file. You choose where to save it, and the app reads and writes only the files you open or save through the standard macOS file dialogs. If you keep the file in a folder that iCloud Drive or another sync service manages, that service moves the file under its own terms. The app doesn't take part in that.

Photos in the test log are not copied into the app. The app remembers a link to the image file you picked. If you move or delete the image, the app can no longer show it.

Printing and PDF files

Batch sheets print through the macOS print system or save as a PDF file in a place you choose. Both stay on your Mac unless you send them somewhere yourself.

Crash reports

macOS can share crash and usage data with app developers when you switch that on in System Settings, under Privacy and Security, then Analytics and Improvements. That is an Apple setting, and Apple handles the data. The app itself sends nothing.

Children

The app doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version ever adds a network feature, this page will change first and the App Store privacy label will change with it. The date at the top tells you when this page last changed.
